Last Wednesday was Payton's 8th birthday. For the past 8 years, Pete and I have been gone on his birthday, either traveling to Florida with my family or traveling from California to Michigan for Christmas. Pete's parents have been gracious enough to celebrate Payton's birthday for us in the past, and even Kathy & Randy stepped in while we were in California. It was so nice to be home for his birthday to celebrate with him this year. I thought about making him a cake with beef baby food and bacon bits, but we settled for a double cheeseburger from McDonalds and a peanut butter flavored Frosty Paw ice cream. Payton has been such a great dog for the past 8 years, and he's been WONDERFUL this past year with a new brother climbing, poking, pulling, and screaming at him all of the time. Happy Birthday to the best doggie in the world!

I think at this point Charlie was wondering if he could have a lick too! It does smell pretty good!
